The Dressmaker...

My name is Alice,
And I have these obsessions...

What is with Australian films? They are all sad and too real. They don't have all of this happily ever after soppy romance and people always die. There we go, I think I have ruined Australia's newest film The Dressmaker enough for you now, as you watch it you can make the connections. Based on Rosalie Ham's novel also titled The Dressmaker this film is amazing! I don't want to describe any of it too you though because if I did it would kind of ruin it. There are so many surprises and a few tears along the way. I really did enjoy this movie, although the entire time I was worried about the split of my white pencil skirt that just kept ripping further and further towards my bottom. The protagonist of the film, Myrtle or Tilly was such a strong character and some of the clothes she wore! Sorry, one end of the scale to the other but oh my goodness!! I couldn't find many of them but here are a few and they are absolutely gorgeous.

Although some of the photos aren't amazingly flattering for Kate Winslet, who played one of the leads, she makes that dresses look amazing!

While on the topic of dresses did anyone see Olympia Valance's dress at the premiere? It was stunning.

Even though it was very much a roller coaster of a movie (very sad, to very funny in an instant) I definitely recommend going to see The Dressmaker in the cinema or buying the DVD once it comes out.
