The Parcel #6...

My name is Alice,
And I have these obsessions...

Another parcel has showed up on my door this week and seeming I don't have uni this time around, I can show it to you right away!

"Welcome to the marie claire Winter Parcel. This season, we've selected a range of products, including a cleanser and a sleeping cream, to see you through the cooler months in style. Remember to let us know what you think by tagging us #theparcel" Sherine Youssef, beauty associate marie claire

John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Anti-Frizz Primer

I used this the night I got The Parcel with the Frizz Ease shampoo and conditioner, and I loved it. I don't have very frizzy hair though, so for someone with this hair type it may be a different case. It smells like the shampoo and conditioner which smell amazing. To be honest, it is just like a leave in conditioner but unlike a leave in conditioner, it is alot lighter. This product didn't leave my hair feeling oily or dirty at all, and I put alot in my hair. Definitely worth a try.

Burt's Bees Tinted Lipbalm

I have never really been into Burt's Bees Products, especially after I found out that their mother company tests on animals. I understand that many of the products I use may be tested on animals or their mother companies test on animals (please, let me enjoy my current oblivious state of mind) but I find it funny that the company is called "Burt's Bees" but is owned by a company that tests on animals. Burt's Bees themselves are approved by The Leaping Bunny but they are listed as their mother company "The Clorox Company" testing on animals. So instead of opening this product, I popped down to a chemist and had a look at it, I think I'll keep this one handy as a gift for someone else. It is just like any other Burt's Bees lip product but it has a slight tint to it. It isn't outrageously coloured but there is something there. It is a nice product but I am holding a bit of a stupid grudge against it.

Rituals Cosmetics Fortune Oil

This is mind blowing!! It smells nice but the best part is when you apply it to your wet/damp skin...IT FOAMS! Although afterwards, (real first world problem here) it kind of smells like you just washed yourself with the soap in public bathrooms. I love the idea of an oil that really is a soap but I am curious as to whether or not there are other scents/flavours in it. PS You can't.

Garnier Wake Up Cream

This is awesome!! When I first opened the product it smelt gross and very sun creamy. But, I am going to say that it is a bit of a life changer after you use it. It left my skin feeling super soft, smooth and very much like a baby's bottom, without the stench. It is meant for morning use, as suggested by the packaging, but I have been using it morning and night for the past few days as a replacement for my macadamia oil and it is pretty good. Doesn't quite compare to the macadamia oil (I could talk about it for ever!) but it is still really nice on your skin.

Klorane Shampoo with Quinine and B Vitamins

This shampoo smells pretty good, a bit manly, which is something I am into at the moment but when you use it, it is a completely different story. I have washed my hair twice with this, the first time for the test and the second because I was trying to change the way I felt about it. I don't know if it was just my hair, which it very well could have been, but I felt as though it kept my hair clean for so much less time than my regular shampoo, leaving me feeling like an oil slick on the road.

Colgate Optic White High Impact White Toothpaste

I've obviously only been using this toothpaste for a few days but it does seem like my teeth are already a bit whiter. It isn't dramatic but I feel as though if I go out and buy some more, which I am totally considering just because it is such a nice toothpaste, and use it everyday, twice a day as suggested on the box, there will be a noticeable difference. If you don't want to spend a super crazy amount of money on whitening your teeth, and you aren't fussed if it takes a few weeks, definitely try this one out for size.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Concentrate

I didn't have any idea what this product was for, nor did I think I needed it because it is an anti-ageing serum. So I looked it up on The Body Shop website and found this:

"How it works:

When you’re young, your skin constantly renews itself to keep it looking fresh and smooth. However, as you age, your skin stops being able to do that so well. Drops of Youth™ is designed to enhance surface skin renewal, by helping your skin with the natural process of replacing the dead skin cells on top with new ones underneath. "

So although, I still think that I am not one who will need this product right now, I am still going to use it and see what it does for me. After using it once for twice, I found that it leaves a slightly sticky residue on your skin, although leaving your skin smooth. It also smells quite chemically, even though The Body Shop claim that it contain 99% of ingredients that are of a natural origin.

MOR Rosa Noir Hand and Body Milk

I already have this product and I love it.I actually keep it in my car for when I need it then but mainly for after work. My hands get super dry there and this always saves them. It smells incredible, I kind of wish I could bathe in it, although I'm pretty sure I could because I think you can buy it in a body wash.

Nivea Sensitive Caring Micellar Water

I really wanted to test this micellar water out. I know my Garnier one is amazing, so I swatched dark lipsticks, eyeshadows of all shades and my foundation on each hand and used one micellar water for each. The Garnier one did amazing, everything was gone. But this Nivea one left alot of the product on my hand. The Garnier one is also the exact same price for more product. It is nice, but if you can get better value for your money and a product that works better, it is obvious which one I am going to pick.

Well that was the Parcel for this season. I really liked this one, I think it is my favourite out of any of the parcels I have ever gotten. Of all the products, I definitely recommend trying out the Colgate toothpaste and the John Frieda hair primer. Xx
