Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer...

My name is Alice,
And I have these obsessions...

Ahhhhhhh!! I went to Mecca the other day, spent too much money and walked out with two products. One of which was this, the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. I'm going to give you the spiel, so sit back, relax,  grab some popcorn, and maybe a pillow (because these next few paragraphs might send you to sleep). Here we go.

So this primer is a freaking expensive one. I unknowingly bought the "jumbo" sized one, 60mL which cost me $107 (FAR OUT!). It has an SPF 15, which is very helpful because suncream is my worst nightmare. It packaging it simple, just the regular Hourglass matte white tube with bronze trimmings.

The primer is super light and thin, which is what I would expect as it is called a veil primer. It sits on your skin very nicely. Rather than other primers that I have used, that leave your skin feeling dry, matte and on the sticky side, this one leaves my skin feeling velvety and moisturised. When I use it, I only use about a pea sized amount. In this case, a little definitely goes a long way so I suppose that the tube will last me agggeeeessssss.

I find that compared to using no primer or a cheap one my foundation goes onto my skin easier, blends better and the final finish is a lot more flawless when using this product. At the moment I am switching between my Tarte Amazionian Clay foundation and a cheap elf one that I bought from Kmart (It is great and there is a post coming soon all about it), so it works well with more expensive and cheaper foundations. I've also found that on days where I don't want to go crazy with my make up, I can just cleanse my face, moisturise and use a little bit of this primer with some setting spray (Currently using the Urban Decay Deslick one) and my face stays mattified and oil free all day.

Throughout the day my makeup does not budge. There were a few days when I was blowing my nose and touching my face a fair bit and even then my make up stayed on. I also think that when it does come to that awful time of the day when I have to wash my makeup off, it comes off a lot easier, even though it does stay put all day.

Overall, I think if you are wanting a nice primer and are willing to spend the $$ on it definitely head into Mecca or check out Mecca or Hourglass online and buy it. It comes in three sizes; 10mL for $27, 30mL for $79 or 60mL for $107 (Prices will vary between stores and if purchasing in store or online).
