Brow Tinting at Home...

My name is Alice,
And I have these obsessions...

So I've been tinting my brows and lashes at home. It is a new experience and so far I'm loving it. It saves you from having to fill in your eyebrows everyday and is so easy, why wouldn't you at least give it a go.

I just headed down to Coles in search of a brow tint and came across this one, the 1000 Hour Eyelash and Brow Dye Kit. There are a few different shades tou can get but I got the darkest one, black. Along with the dye and activator, it comes with two little brushes and a plastic dish for mixing the product in.

How It Works

So after mixing the product, I prep my brows by trimming the hairs. To trim my brows hairs all I do, I comb them upwards and run a pair of scissors along the top of my brow. I then repeat this brushing the hairs downwards. After trimming my brow hairs, I use a thick moisturiser, like the LUSH Ultrabalm or a paw paw ointment, around my brows where I don't want the dye to hold. I use it around my rows and blend a little into the front of my brow in an attempt to create the perfect "instagram" brows.

I then use a small angled brush to apply the product. I just apply it as if I am filling in my brows with make up. If you make a mistake, you just immediately wipe it away with a damp cloth and start over. Originally, I tried using the brushes that come with the product to apply it but they didnt work as well as hoped, although the spooly is great for combing through brows to evenly distribute the product.

I leave the product on for 5-10 minutes depending on how I am feeling on the day. Obviously, the longer you leave it on for the darker your brows will be.

The Final Product

To be honest, your brows look great. As longer as you didn't over do it in the application process, there is nowhere to go wrong. If you do find that you've made them too dark, I found the best way to lighten the dye is to mix baking soda and water and massage it into the hairs. I don't have to let it sit for too long before it takes some of the product off or you can just deal with it, until the product wears off a little, as it does after about a week.

So this is how they turn out immediately after tinting them. They are super bold and crazy! They tend to stay this way for a few days and then after about a week they calm down a little bit and look a little more like these.
